My work explores the intersection of nature, found materials, and spontaneous composition. Using repurposed metal, Provincetown driftwood, and objects discovered on my walks and adventures, I create textured assemblages and collages that honor the history and character of each material. I select and layer elements based on their shape, pattern, and feel—allowing the final piece to emerge organically, guided more by intuition than plan.
I also make vessels out of layered paper and wood, combining simple materials to build textured forms. Each piece comes together through wrapping, layering, and sometimes tearing back again. I let the process guide me, choosing shapes and colors, based on feel and balance rather than a fixed plan. My hope is that each one feels grounded, honest, and open to interpretation, like small meditations in physical form.
With a degree in Applied Art from Iowa State University, specializing in fiber and design, I bring a tactile sensibility to my process. I work from my studio at Whaler’s Wharf in Provincetown, Massachusetts, USA, where visits are welcome by appointment. I also offer personalized commissions and enjoy collaborating with collectors to create one-of-a-kind works that reflect a shared vision.
